Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kanat graduated from Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine in 1996. Dr. Kanat left the same faculty in 2002 as a specialist and worked as a faculty member at İzzet Baysal Faculty of Medicine between 2003-2010. Between 2010-2012, he completed the Diabetes and Metabolism Fellowship program at the University of Texas San Antonio Health Sciences Center, one of the leading diabetes centers in the USA, and became a Diabetes and Metabolic Diseases Specialist. He worked as a faculty member in the Department of Internal Medicine at Istanbul Medipol University Faculty of Medicine between 2012-2015. He has been working as a faculty member in the Department of Internal Medicine at Istanbul Medeniyet University since October 2015. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kanat, whose articles in the field of diabetes have been published in the world's leading diabetes/endocrinology journals and international books, continues his work as the Director of Istanbul Medeniyet University Diabetes Research Center (DIMER).
