Prof. Dr. Aytekin Oğuz graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1978. In 1982, he wrote his medical specialization thesis on “The Effect of Infusion of Isosorbid Dinitrate on Left Ventricular Functions in the Treatment of Congestive Heart Failure”. Between 1997 and 2000, he served as the Head of the Department of Internal Medicine at Kocaeli University Faculty of Medicine. Since 2017, he has been a professor at Istanbul Medeniyet University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine. He has been a senate member of the same university since 2018. He has been the president of the Metabolic Syndrome Association since 2003 and the Cardiometabolic Health Foundation since 2007.
